Interview with Lisa Dotson
Interview with Lisa
Dotson, salesperson
Me: How long have you been working with Jenkins and Wynne?
LD: Seven Years.
Me: What is your role here at Jenkins and Wynne?
LD: I sell cars; I’m a salesperson.
I sell Ford, Lincoln Honda, and used vehicles.
Me: Is there a good story about something that’s happened
while working here?
LD: Maybe about four years ago, I
was standing on the lot, and my back was on a concrete stop… as I’m backing up…
the customer sees before I do, but as I back up, I fall over that concrete
stop. The customer reaches out to catch me, but it was too late and I fell
right on my butt. Things like that happen. You’ll bang your head on the door,
or smash your finger in something. It can be funny.
Me: What’s your favorite part about working the position you
do?
LD: Meeting people. It’s not that
I’m selling cars as much as I’m helping people fit a need. I like being a
facilitator and helping people fit their needs.
Me: What kind of vehicle do you drive?
LD: A Honda
CR-V. It’s ’12.
Me: Do you have any hobbies?
LD: I
design and make clothes. I sing, so I lead music at my church.
Me: What work experience do you have outside of Jenkins and
Wynne?
LD: I’ve been in the car business
for 21 years. I was in law enforcement before for 15 years. 10 years in New
York, and a deputy sheriff (in Clarksville) for 5.
Me: Is there anything different about working at Jenkins and
Wynne that’s surprised you?
LD:
I’ve been in the business for 21 years. Jenkins and Wynne in their
60-year history, has a reputation that nobody else has. They treat their
customers and employees extremely well. We have salesmen that have been here
for decades. They’ve built up cliental and a customer base. They have earned a
lot of trust.
