Planting Fallen Soldier Flags, One Mile At A Time...
Yesterday for our photo a day the word was 'close up'. We decided to take a picture that has a great meaning to it! So, here's the picture...
And here's the story...
Everyday Mike Eherdt runs a marathon to honor fallen soldiers as part of Project America Run.
Yes, that's right.
He began his journey on Aug. 23 in International Falls, Minn., and is running about 26 miles a day for 81 consecutive days. For ever mile Mike runs, he leaves an American Flag with the name, rank, age, and hometown of a fallen soldier. According to a release, the placement of flags is to simulate an invisible holding of hands from the northern U.S. border to Gulf of Mexico to those who have died defending American's freedom. Mike said, 'It's a way to give back and to say thank you.'
