The Big 3

Curious about the conversations surrounding the Big 3? Me too!

I’ve just about stopped watching the news...as I feel that most of the time they make things to be far worse than they really are. At the beginning, the more I listened, the more frustrated I got...as they were so uninformed in their facts….it sickened me. So, once in a blue moon I’ll turn the news on…but for the most part I won’t be tainted by the media. Sick of it!

Curious on Ford’s plan? Go to: http://www.fordvehicles.com/thefordstory/ for a full report. You can see blogs/ videos/ work plans, etc...honest material!

More than ever, I am proud to represent 4 of the best brands: Ford Lincoln Mercury and Honda.

For FLM- I am most proud of the vision that Prez Allan Mulally and the Ford Team started to execute a couple years ago. They had the sense to restructure, eliminate wasteful costs, and rebuild Ford from within. Because of that vision, Ford is in a cash position…$29 billion of liquidity is the last I heard. Ford is perceived to be the strongest out of the Big 3. Ford has taken the stance to not cut back on product/materials/etc…whereas some competitors have had to eliminate product development to conserve their cash position. Also, Ford Credit Financing is in the strongest position...and are able to buy a lot more than other banks.

Yes! I am for the bailout. Yes, Ford has asked for $9 billion…but in the same breath said that this money would be reserve/emergency money. GM and Chrysler need the bailout. As an industry as a whole- we need the bailout…verses either company taking bankruptcy. There has been talk of GM selling Saturn, Humvee…and possibly Pontiac….to get in a better cash position. GM must have minimum $4 billion by the end of this year. Also, Cerberus- who currently owns Chrysler- is trying to sell Chrysler. We wouldn’t need to touch the govt loan money, unless either GM and/or Chrysler take bankruptcy. If either of them does, it will cause suppliers (that we all share) to file bankruptcy...therefore, affecting every domestic and import manufacturing plant in the USA. A Ch 11 bankruptcy by any manufacture would cost retirees their health care and retirements. This would affect the taxpayer (US!) and would put us all in a worse position than the bailout would….not a good boost for our economy. It is my prayer that Congress would not vote to end health care/ retirement benefits for over 1 million retirees, eliminate 2.5 million jobs in the USA and lose future product development and technology...that is only driving (literally) our country into better vehicles…because that is what a bankruptcy would cause.

Ford has worked hard over the years to produce quality, safe, green, and smart vehicles. The F150 is the best selling truck for 31 straight years. (Competition has tried…but just can’t seem to really get it right…hence why they are closing Toyota and Nissan Truck Plants all over the US.) The Ford Fusion is rated to have better quality than the Camry.…according to JD Power survey. The 09 Ford Hybrid Fusion beats out the Hybrid Camry…with 39 mpg and is best in class. The Ford Focus beats the Corolla. I could go on and on with facts on initial quality. Between 05 and 07, Ford has invested more than $22 billion in research and development of technologies: Eco-Boost, flex fuel, clean diesel, hybrids, plug in hybrids and hydrogen cars. Also, Ford has committed to bring more cars to the line up…and balance the truck line up. I, personally, am working with Ford on a project for the new Fiesta. The above stats definitely help prove my point…but drive one for yourself…and you can see exactly what I’m talking about!

Although Ford Sales were down in Nov, they were down the least compared to: Toyota, GM, Nissan, and Chrysler. Ford and Volvo had 16 vehicles in the 2009 model year on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's list of the safest new cars, followed by Honda with 13 vehicles. The selected vehicles are the best in protecting people in front, side and rear crash tests based on institute evaluations during the year. The vehicles are required to have electronic stability control, or ESC, to qualify for the award.

Ford was led by the Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan midsize cars with optional ESC; the Ford F-150 pickup, Ford Edge and Ford Flex mid-size sport utility vehicles; and the Ford Escape and Mercury Mariner small SUVs.

I bleed Ford blue=)

For Honda- I am incredibly grateful that Papaw Jenks and Dad and Murray decide to invest in the Honda Franchise. Honda has immensely blessed our business. Honda sold 1.36 million vehicles in the US so far this year…and are projecting to sell 1.6 million by 2010. WOW! Our Honda sales are very steady as the Honda line up is so strong with fuel-efficient cars, truck, suvs! Kelley Blue Book named Honda the best resale value brand and announced the 2009 model-year vehicles projected to retain the greatest amount of their original retail prices after five years of ownership.

Our FLM and Honda Stores are all ranked in the top 8% in the Nation...for sales and service. We are also the proud receipt of the ‘Best Place to Buy a Vehicle in Clarksville’ for 8 years now! God has blessed our business immensely...and I am grateful every day to come to work, do what I love…and work with awesome people. We have the best employees in TN!!

If you are in the market for a vehicle, please let me know by calling: 931.245.5297 or emailing: jenkinsandwynne@yahoo.com. Your business is important to me! Most importantly, I would love to see you in one of our quality vehicles.
